APHA 2017 – Annual Meeting & Expo

November 4 - November 8

427’s Director of Analytics, Nik Steinberg will be attending the American Public Health Association’s Annual Meeting & Expo. The event will be from November 4th-8th and takes place in Atlanta at the Georgia World Congress Center. This year’s theme is Creating the Healthiest Nation: Climate Changes Health.

Nik will be presenting at two different sessions:

On November 5th, 2-5 PM the APHA’s Global Public Health Film Festival will be showing the feature film: From the Ashes. Following the film, Nik will serve on the expert panel to discuss how climate change affects health and ways public health professionals can act to combat the effects of climate change. On November 8th, 10:30-12 PM Nik will be presenting, “Heat and Health in a Changing Climate: Building a Decision Support Tool for California Public Health Officials” during the “Science to Support Decision-Making and Policies” session. Nik will discuss how climate science can support decision making in the public health sector in context of preparing for more extreme heat waves in California. More info here.
